A little over a year ago, near the start of quarantine, an acquaintance announced, on Twitter, that she was leaving Twitter. Within months, we progressed to periodic phone calls, and then to daily texting—an escalation in intimacy that feels unique not only during the digital age but in this past year-plus of social distancing.
We still text every day. This scene has repeated itself throughout the past year. Whereas my boyfriend has yet to accuse me of carrying on an affair, he did, at one point, sit me down with a straight face to say he was beginning to feel jealous. We have the nimblest fancy, a richer memory, and our dumb devil as taken leave for the time. Our faculties do not play us true, and both parties are relieved by solitude.
He may have prized a degree of detachment, in part, because he was skeptical of groupthink. The phone frames your friends in the least annoying and most imaginatively nurturing light. I turn this insight over in my head and then text it to my new, no-longer-tweeting friend. Eventually, she texts back in agreement.
My last pre-quarantine outing was with two women I no longer speak to, and when we broke up it all happened over text—no spoken exchange, no I. After months of mutual silence, I made the split official by unfriending both on social media.
Have feedback? Email us at nytgames nytimes. FunFact Election Day is November 2. Now when I try to do a purchase there is no confirm button on the bottom half of the screen. On the top half on the right side it says double click to confirm.
This banner is slightly moving but the item I am supposed to double click never appears on the screen. I have an iPhone X and have recently purchased Midi puzzles but now I can no longer purchase.
I also looked at a annual subscription but the same screen issues. Good News. I ended up googling my question and found the answer. That double click message: on the X phone on the upper right side there is a button one can push. So I ended up purchasing an annual subscription. Of course you get access to the big Daily puzzle. BUT I do have access to the Midi archives and thus I have access to puzzles for every month of archive.
You got a 5 star rating from me on my initial review when I was having technical problems. So no need to update that. Hey cardsharky - please contact us via the Feedback button in the app so we can try to recreate your experience. Also be sure to update to the latest version of the app which supports iPhone X. Thanks for the feedback! I am a daily player of this app. I feel like NYTimes did a great job with a simple interface that outcompetes, imho, doing crosswords on paper.
I like how the puzzles are released. It is more important to have it work well than to have too many bells and whistles. For this I am grateful. However, as a heavy player, I find myself regularly frustrated by an unfulfilling game-play relative to gaming standards today. I would like to see more accomplishment possibilities. I like rewards, badges, rankings and levels.
I enjoy the puzzle talk where I can see explanations and chatter about the puzzles but this is apparently not available when a puzzle ages out to archives. Prices shown are in U. Other restrictions apply. This version has general bug fixes and improvements. For any questions, feedback or concerns please reach out to ios nytimes. Hi, I don't need to comment on the world class journalism or the excellent general layout of the app but can searching for and reading editorial articles be made easier in the app?
The best solution would be to tag editorial articles in the opinion section. However, I don't mind searching for it using the editorial keyword in the search box, but if the results could at least be sorted based on the most recent articles first, that'll make the experience even better. Thanks and keep up the great work! However, a recent update shifted the back icon to the bottom of the screen. The new location at the bottom of the screen also requires awkward and frustrating hand contortions to reach it each time you want to return to the home screen.
Please put the back button back where it belongs. Hey NYT. While I love reading the NYT, your updated app has upset the navigation on the app. How did you reach this decision to move this from top to bottom? PS: I saw there are quite a few other comments on this same issue. Seems I am not alone! For more information, see the developer's privacy policy.
